First of all, sorry for my English mistakes:)
There is still one left. One last blog. The circle is round. I have been to the amazing country Spain and I have had the time of my life. I met amazing people from anywhere on the globe and I experienced things I might never experience again.
13 Days ago I came back to Eindhoven. The city where I was born and raised, where I am running candidate for city council, and - where I always thought of - belonged to. Coming back brought some massive challenges. Adjusting yourself to one’s home culture can be difficult and can only be judged upon after experiencing it yourself.
Thinking differently about culture issues is great, I guess. It shows you are open for change. However, as more than 16 million people force you to come to class in time, hurry in the supermarket and eat at 6 o’clock exactly, you do not have any choice than just accept and move on.
As I said, I thought I belonged to Eindhoven. I was certain. But going to Rupit and Madrid has changed my view. You never belong to just one city. Anywhere you travel, you meet people and you have memories, you will leave a piece of your heart. And to the contrary as it may sound, it does not shatter your heart but it gets enriched.
Living a life like I did over the past months was great, unforgettable, enriching, incredible and a challenge each day. Coming home did not change me, it was the life I lived before that did. In my daily life I have a busy schedule like never before: campaigning, thesis, tutoring ánd relaxing. Because – even if it would have been the one fucking thing I learned in Madrid – you only live once. Enjoy it to the max and make the best of every day you have left. And now I am off to Prague! Thank you for following me and bye bye!
